Cleansing Type 4 Natural Hair!

Heeyyy Fam! Here, I’m showing ya’ll my current wash day routine. As of now, my routine consists of cleansing, deep conditioning, and styling. I usually do this once a week if time permits. Here’s the run down:

Step 1:
Cleanse – Always be sure to clean the scalp with the pads of your fingers, NOT the fingernails!

Step 2:
Condition – I always deep condition on wash day during the colder months. This helps to protect your tresses from the cold dry air.

Step 3:
Oil Rinse – Grab your favorite oil and apply it all over the hair after rinsing out your conditioner. After applying the oil, rinse off the excess. This leaves the hair soft and pliable without a greasy feel or weighing it down. It also increases moisture retention with consistent use.

Step 4:
Style – I keep this pretty simple, either a braid out or twist out. I always style on damp hair (after allowing my hair to air dry under a cotton t-shirt for 20 min.- 1 hour). This cuts drying time in half and speeds up my styling session!
