November 9, 2016 was a day that shocked half the nation.
Republican nominee Donald Trump won the 2016 Presidential Election. Although he did not win the popular vote, he was able to defeat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton with the electoral voting system that he despises so much.
The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.

But I digress…
If you are like me then music is your go-to for situations like this. Here are some tracks to get you through the day as you try to regroup from last night’s turn of events:
Cranes in the Sky-Solange
“I tried to drink it away. I tried to put one in the air…”
Yep that pretty much sums up last night.
We Will Not-T.I
T.I. hit the nail on the head with this song and the entire #UsOrElse EP!
New Slaves-Kanye West
“You see it’s leaders then it’s followers…”
Mad-Solange ft. Lil’ Wayne
Don’t let your anger get in the way.
Long Live the Chief-Jidenna
“You can either lead, follow, or get out the way.”
No Problem-Chance the Rapper ft. 2 Chainz and Lil’ Wayne
Superpower-Beyoncé ft. Frank Ocean
What playlist would this be without Beyoncé?
Because you have to remind yourself that we can handle this situation that is about to brace us next year.
My President is Black-Jeezy ft. Nas
Because you have two more months to sing this and it is the truth.
Fake Love by Drake
Timmy Turner by Desiigner
Roar by Katy Perry
Angel Down by Lady Gaga
Nothing Is Promised by Mike Will Made It and Rihanna
Some Type of Way by Rich Homie Quan
In his victory speech last night, Trump promised to be “President for ALL Americans.” Let’s just hope that this isn’t talk and that all the hate rhetoric he was talking during his campaign was just for votes.
